Some news from behind the scenes: this year we moved the entire UMedia operation — booking, scheduling, invoicing, photo delivery, and property websites — onto a single platform called Spatiko. If you’ve booked a shoot with us recently, you’ve already used it, probably without noticing. That was the goal.
This post is the longer version of the email we’d otherwise send: what actually changes for you, what deliberately stays where it was, and why we made the switch after running 4,000+ shoots across DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia on our old setup.
What Changes for You as a Client
The short answer: two things, both small. Booking now runs through a new order form — same booking links on our site, new machinery behind them. And delivery now arrives through a branded client portal instead of a plain download link.
Everything you actually care about is untouched. Pricing and packages are the same. Your photographer is the same — we still send the same crew to your listings. And the delivery promise is the same: edited, MLS-ready photos by the next business day, with same-day rush available on request.
If you have an old booking link bookmarked, it’s worth re-saving the current one from our pricing page — that’s the one change that might actually touch your routine.
What Is Spatiko?
Spatiko is software built specifically for real estate photography companies — one platform that runs booking, scheduling, payments, media delivery, and single-property websites. Think of it as the operating system behind a photography business: you see the order form and the gallery; it handles everything between the two.
We’re not being paid to say any of this, and this isn’t a sponsored post. We’re a customer. We pay for the platform, we run our whole business on it, and our clients interact with it daily — which is exactly why we think the switch is worth explaining rather than quietly shipping.
Why We Switched
To be fair to our old setup: we already ran booking and delivery on a single system, and it carried us through years of growth. But it hadn’t kept pace. The interfaces felt dated — especially on a phone — and too many steps that should happen on their own still needed a person to push them along. At our volume — thousands of shoots, 1,000+ clients — every manual step is a place where a detail can slip. We wanted a platform where an order placed at 9 p.m. flows to a photographer’s calendar, an invoice, and a delivery gallery without anyone touching it.
Here’s what won us over, feature by feature:
Booking that clients can finish in one sitting — on a phone. Spatiko’s online booking gives you a real order form — pick services, see prices, choose a time, get an instant confirmation. Payment works the way you already pay for everything else: card, Link, Apple Pay, or Google Pay — convenient and secure. And the form is genuinely good on mobile, which matters when most bookings happen between showings, not at a desk. No “we’ll get back to you with a quote” limbo.

Scheduling that understands a spread-out market. Our service area runs from Loudoun County to Annapolis, and a photographer’s day has to make geographic sense. Spatiko’s scheduling assigns shoots based on each photographer’s location, availability, and skills — so the drone-certified photographer gets the aerial job in the outer suburbs, and nobody is asked to cross the Beltway twice at rush hour to make a 3 p.m. shoot.
Delivery that respects your time. Finished media lands in a branded client portal: a mobile-friendly gallery where you view, download, and share everything — photos, video, floor plans, 3D tours — from any device. And we simplified access along the way: delivery pages are secured but open by link, so there’s no password to remember and no account to create. Your order history stays there too — when a listing comes back on the market in the spring, finding its photos takes one click, not an archaeology dig through email attachments.
Property websites on the same rails. Every single-property website we build now runs on Spatiko’s property-website platform — modern, fast-loading pages with the gallery, floor plan, video, and lead capture built in, created alongside your media order instead of as a separate project.
The honest caveat: no platform is magic, and switching systems mid-year is real work — mostly ours, which is how it should be. What sold us wasn’t any single feature but the automation between them: one order flows into the schedule, the invoice, and the gallery on its own, with nobody re-typing anything along the way.
What Happens to Your Past Projects and Property Websites
This is the part we thought hardest about, so it gets its own section.
Past deliveries stay put — for now. Anything we delivered before the switch remains available for download on our previous system, so nothing you’ve already received disappears overnight. If you need files from an older shoot and can’t find your link, contact us and we’ll sort it out.
Existing property websites stay exactly where they are. We made a deliberate call not to migrate property sites that were already live. Those pages are indexed by search engines, shared on social media, and printed on flyers and sign riders — moving them would have broken every one of those links for zero benefit to you. So sites launched before the switch keep their original addresses, and new sites are built on Spatiko going forward. Your marketing keeps working; the plumbing changes only for new orders.
What Stays the Same
Since “we switched platforms” can sound like “brace for chaos,” the reassurance list, in full:
| Before | After | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing & packages | See pricing | Unchanged |
| Your crew | Same photographers, same team | Unchanged |
| Turnaround | Next business day, MLS-ready | Unchanged |
| How you book | Booking links on our site | Same links, new order form behind them |
| How you receive media | Download link | Branded portal, opens by secure link (no password) — view, download, share, revisit |
| Existing property sites | Live at their original URLs | Still live at their original URLs |
The switch was about the machinery, not the product. The photography, the crews, and the standards are the same ones that earned the reviews we have — the platform just removes friction from everything around them.
If anything behaves unexpectedly with a booking link or an old gallery during the transition, tell us — that’s exactly the feedback we want while both systems are running side by side.
